Micah - September 2006

Micah had a bit of a rough start to 2nd grade. He's a free spirit and functions a little better walking around the room than sitting at a desk. He's starting to get the discipline of it, though.

A coupe of weeks ago, I was having a hard time finding his agenda book -- they give all of the students agenda books to keep their homework assignments in and for parent/teacher communication. Well, it turns out that Micah had hidden his book in a compartment of his backpack in which I don't normally look. He had gotten a red light at school two days in a row -- generally for not paying attention and for getting out of his seat. Well, needless to say, I was pretty upset when I realized that he was hiding his bad marks from me. As much as I'd like to say I was the model parent, I can't. I yelled and sent him to his room.

When I had cooled off a bit, I asked him to come sit with me in the front room so we could have a discussion. When he came out onto the couch, I asked him what he was thinking about.

He said, "I was just remembering all the good times we used to have."

Silly Boys!

I decided to start this blog to keep track of the cute things my two youngest sons, Micah - 7 and Jacob - 5, say.

Enjoy!
